Audit Timing

Please be aware that the creative auditing process only commences once your campaign is activated on ad:personam. This means that until your campaign officially goes live, your creatives will not enter the auditing phase. Activation triggers the automated review process, ensuring your ads meet our standards before they are served to your audience.

It's crucial to factor in this timing, especially when planning your campaign launch dates, to allow adequate time for the auditing process to be completed (one-business-day turnaround under typical circumstances).

Understanding the Creative Auditing Process

The creative auditing process on ad:personam, powered by Xandr (Microsoft Advertising DSP), is a crucial step to ensure your ads align with our platform standards. This process is entirely automated, leveraging Xandr's advanced technology to evaluate your creatives promptly. Here’s what you need to know:

Audit Phases:

  • No Audit: This status indicates that your creative is on standby because your campaign has not yet been activated. No auditing will occur until your campaign goes live.
  • Pending: Once your campaign is activated, the creative automatically enters the auditing process. The system meticulously reviews your ad to ensure it meets Xandr's standards. This stage is typically completed within one business day, ensuring a swift transition to either approval or rejection.
  • Approved: Creatives that successfully pass the automated audit are marked as “approved.” This status means your ad is up to par with our guidelines and ready to be served to your target audience on the platform.
  • Rejected: If a creative fails to meet the required standards during the audit, it will be labeled as “failed” and will not be eligible for display. This ensures that all ads served through ad:personam adhere to our quality and content criteria.

The auditing process is designed for efficiency, with most reviews concluding within a business day. However, creatives submitted for auditing late in the week, such as on Fridays or weekends, may experience slight delays due to the scheduling.

Why Creatives Get Rejected

  • Display Issues: Problems like incorrect tag size or poor display quality.
  • Insufficient Branding: Lack of clear logo, brand name, or mismatch between creative and landing page branding.
  • Improper Brand Rotation: Ads showcasing multiple brands.
  • Click-through Issues: Broken links, errors, or creatives not leading to the expected landing page.
  • Minimum Standards: Discrepancies between the ad’s offer and the landing page, or lack of identifiable offers.
  • Auto-refreshing: Creatives that refresh themselves or cause the page to do so.
  • Downloads and External Applications: Creatives or landing pages prompting downloads or opening external applications without user initiation.

Troubleshooting Tips

  1. Ensure your creative and landing page share identical branding elements like logos or URLs.
  2. Verify the functionality of your creative’s click-through, ensuring it opens correctly and leads to the intended landing page.
  3. Double-check that your creative’s offer matches what’s on the landing page and meets our content standards.
  4. If you face a rejection you believe is in error, or if you have any questions, our ad:personam customer support is here to help. We’re committed to making the auditing process as smooth and transparent as possible, helping you succeed in your advertising efforts.
