Troubleshooting VAST Creative Display Issues

Encountering issues with your VAST creative display can be frustrating. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you ensure smooth ad delivery:

  • Test Your URL in a VAST Validator
Utilize a VAST validator to check if your URL is returning valid VAST XML content. A proper VAST URL, when accessed in a browser, should display VAST-compliant XML according to IAB Standards. If the response is empty, verify the URL's activity or reach out to your third-party hosting service for confirmation.
  • Confirm Valid VAST XML Content
Ensure that accessing your URL in a browser returns VAST compliant XML. If you encounter an empty response, the URL might be inactive or incorrect. In such cases, contact your CDN or hosting provider to resolve the issue.
  • Address Creative Display Issues
If your creative passes the validator test but still fails to display correctly or encounters audit issues, verify that your third-party hosting service is not blocking domains like adnxs.com or adnxs.net, or restricting access based on geographic location (e.g., US/NY). Such blocks can prevent your creative from being served as intended.

By following these steps and troubleshooting tips, you can effectively manage and resolve common issues associated with VAST & VPAID creatives, ensuring your video ads are delivered smoothly and meet industry standards.
